Hey, it's Bobby. 23 inches of snow dumped on us last week here in Denver. It seems winter is here, finally. Thankfully we're well stocked on hot chocolate and streaming services. Time to make the most of this season.
Don’t overthink it. Create a strong headline and put your text over a simple background so that it stands out. Real-world Example: The Elite Competitor puts their core promise front & center on their Facebook ad. Notice how they also call out their target audience, “Sports Moms”, with the banner at the top. Pro Tip: If you see an ad that’s been running for a long time or that has a ton of social engagement (e.g. 2.5K likes on this ad) that usually means it’s performing very well for the advertiser.
You can take it one step further and add a stock photo that complements your headline. This can be useful to place your headline’s promise within a certain context. Real-world Example: Dow Janes uses a generic corporate stock photo behind their headline. Normally I warn against using these types of bland images, but it seems Dow Janes wants to associate their brand with that context (plus, it’s hard to argue with 10K reactions).
The name the game with social ads is to get attention. No attention, no click. And since humans are hardwired to look at faces, you can give your ad extra attention-grabbing power with a person’s photo. Real-world Example: Be Self-full adds a photo of the creator, Jessica Baum, to their image to help it stand out in the social feed. Pro Tip: Something like this is easy to create in Canva. Especially now that AI tools can quickly remove a photo’s background. So you can put your photo on top of other elements to create an overlap effect, like the photo below. Want more?
